Hey hey hey everyone ^^ The characters that you see in this picture below are from Monster Legend (top) and, of course, DragonVale (bottom). These are my favorite characters so far in the games. (These are sketches made with a red/black pen and colored pencils) Hope you'll like them! DragonVale World was a simulation video game where players managed their own parks by breeding and leveling up dragons, alongside decorating and expanding their parks. The game was created and published by now-defunct Backflip Studios, becoming available for iOS and Android platforms on November 15, 2015 as beta, and November 1, 2016 worldwide. Dragonvale World used the freemium.

In DragonVale, breeding is the name of the game, and this dragon breeding guide will help you in your long journey of breeding the different dragons in the game.

In order to breed the different dragons, you need a Breeding Cave which unlocks at level 7, or an Epic Breeding Island which can be purchased for 125 gems at level 13. The Epic Breeding Island gives you a higher chance at breeding the rare hybrid dragons like the rainbow dragon, and also allows you to breed another set of dragons at the same time as your other normal Breeding Cave.

Below, I have created a table outlining the basic year round dragon breeding combinations you can perform. The blank boxes mean they can't be bred together under normal circumstances. There are exceptions of course, which you'll see in my opposite element section below.

Opposite Element Dragon Breeding in DragonVale

Most dragons with opposite elements can't breed, like the Lightning and Water, or Earth and Air, however you can get Opposite Element Dragons if one of the dragons is a hybrid dragon. For example, the Sandstorm Dragon can be created by breeding an Air Dragon with an Earth hybrid like a Crystal Dragon or Mud Dragon.

Blue Fire Dragon – Breed a Fire Dragon with a Cold hybrid. Fire + Storm is a popular combination.

Current Dragon – Breed a Water Dragon with a Lightning hybrid. Water + Storm, Water + Magnetic, etc.

Dodo Dragon – Breed an Earth Dragon with an Air hybrid. Earth + Chrome, and Earth + Blazing are popular combinations.

Ironwood Dragon – Breed a Plant Dragon with a Metal hybrid. Plant + Chrome is a popular combination.

Malachite Dragon – Breed a Metal Dragon with a Plant hybrid. Metal + Cactus is a popular combination.

Plasma Dragon – Breed a Lightning Dragon with a Water hybrid. Lightning + Fog, Lightning + Rust, etc.

Frostfire Dragon – Breed a Cold Dragon with a Fire hybrid. Cold + Firefly is a popular combination.

Sandstorm Dragon – Breed an Air Dragon with an Earth hybrid. Mud + Air is a popular combination.

Treasure Dragon Breeding in DragonVale

Treasure Dragons are rare, and worth a ton of coins if you sell them.

Bronze Dragon – Breed dragons containing Earth and Metal elements.

Silver Dragon – Breed dragons containing Cold and Metal elements.

Gold Dragon – Breed dragons containing Fire and Metal elements.

Platinum Dragon – Breed dragons containing Water and Metal elements.

Electrum Dragon – Breed dragons containing Lightning and Metal elements.

Epic Dragon Breeding in DragonVale

Epic Dragons are rare hybrid dragons with very low chances of success.

Bronze Dragon – Breed dragons containing Earth and Metal elements.

Bronze Olympus Dragon – Limited dragon only available during the Olympics. Mix an Air hybrid with a Lightning hybrid, like Blazing + Crystal.

Cyclops Dragon – Breed dragons with Metal, Water, and Lightning elements. Copper + Seaweed or Magnetic + Swamp or good examples.

Double Rainbow Dragon – Breed dragons that combine for a total of four different elements. Glacier + Firefly for example = Earth, Cold, Fire, and Lightning.

Electrum Dragon – Breed dragons containing Lightning and Metal elements, even the basic Lightning + Metal dragons work on this one.

Gold Dragon – Breed dragons containing Fire and Metal elements.

Gold Olympus Dragon – Limited dragon only available during the Olympics. Mix an Air hybrid with a Lightning hybrid, like Blazing + Storm.

Leap Year Dragon – Both limited and rare, since it is only available for a few days on a leap year. Breed dragons with a total of four different attributes. Love + Plant seems to be a popular choice.

Moon Dragon – Breed a cold type with a lightning type. Crystal Dragon + Blue Fire Dragon seem to have the best odds of success.

Ouroboros Dragon – Breed a magnetic type with a water type. Magnetic + Swamp, or Magnetic + Fog are popular combinations.

Dead

Platinum Dragon – Breed dragons containing Water and Metal elements.

Rainbow Dragon – Breed dragons that combine for a total of four different elements. Glacier + Firefly for example = Earth, Cold, Fire, and Lightning.

The fastest clicker. Seasonal Dragon – The only dragon so far that is meant to change appearance over time, as the seasons change. Breed dragons with a total of air, fire, and plant attributes, like Blazing + Plant, Blazing + Tree, etc.

Limited Dragons are dragons that aren't available all year long, and usually related to a holiday or some other seasonal event.

Apocalypse Dragon – The Mayan end of days are upon us, so get this extremely limited dragon while you can! (December 2012 if you've been in a cave) Breed dragons totaling elements of plant, lightning, metal, and cold. Copper + Evergreen, Cactus + Mine, Steel + Ash, etc. It has a 20 hour and 12 minute incubation time.

Bearded Dragon – Available around Fathers Day. Breed a Mountain Dragon with a Metal Dragon or other metal hybrid dragon.

Bloom Dragon – Available in the spring time. Breed dragons with plant, cold, and lightning attributes. One of these will have to be a hybrid dragon. Storm + Plant seem to be the best mix to get this dragon.

Blue Moon Dragon – Availability is somewhat unknown, since blue moons (two full moons in one month) happen around the globe at different times. Keep an eye on the market, and if you see it available to purchase then you should be able to breed it. Breed a lightning type with a cold type.

Bone Dragon – Available around Halloween. Breed earth and fire types.

Bouquet Dragon – Available around Mother's Day, generally the first two weeks of May. Breed a Flower Dragon with any other dragon containing the water element.

Butterfly Dragon – Available around the last half of spring. Breed an air type with a Firefly Dragon.

Century Dragon – The 100th dragon to be released, starting in February of 2013. This dragon will likely not be available again, but it is unknown when it will be taken off the market. Breed dragons with attributes of cold, earth, and water. Cold + Mud or Snow + River seem to be good combinations.

Clover Dragon – Available around St. Patrick's Day. You need to breed a plant type with a moss type.

Cotton Dragon – Available at the second anniversary of DragonVale, which ran from Sept. 12 2013 to Sept. 26 2013. Was bred by mixing two dragons with a total of all four elements of earth, fire, lightning, and plant. Now only available during Bring Em' Back events.

Liberty Dragon – Available around Independence Day (4th of July). Breed a Copper Dragon with an Air Dragon or other hybrid dragon containing the air element.

Mistletoe Dragon – Available during December for Christmas. Breed a Tree Dragon with a Lichen Dragon.

Motley Dragon – First available on March 28, 2013 for an unknown duration. Reports say that it can be bred with any two dragons, but others say you breed dragons with fire and plant attributes.

Panlong Dragon – Available around Chinese New Year. Breed dragons with a total of all four basic elements of fire, water, air, and earth. Blazing + Mud, or Fog + Lava are good for this combination.

Paper Dragon – Available at the first anniversary of DragonVale, which ran from Sept. 13 2012 to Sept. 24 2012. Was bred by mixing two dragons with a total of all four elements of cold, plant, fire, and earth. Now only available during Bring Em' Back events.

Reindeer Dragon – Available around Christmas. Breed cold and plant types.

Rose Dragon – Available around Valentines Day. Breed a Flower Dragon with any dragon that has the air attribute.

Sakura Dragon – Available in the spring time. Breed dragons with plant, earth, and fire attributes. One of these will have to be a hybrid dragon. Tree + Flower seems to be the only successful mix at the moment.

Solar Eclipse Dragon – Availability is somewhat unknown, since a solar eclipse can happen around the globe at any time. Keep an eye on the market, and if you see it available to purchase then you should be able to breed it. Breed dragons with attributes of air, earth, and fire. Blazing + Earth or Smoke + Earth seem to be popular combinations.

Solstice Dragon – Both limited and rare. Available during the summer and winter solstices (later part of June and December in the northern hemisphere). Breed an earth type with a Blazing Dragon during the summer or winter solstice.

Spring Dragon – Seasonal dragon available during the spring season in the northern hemisphere. Breed dragons with cold, fire, and lightning. Hail + Fire or Storm + Fire are popular combinations.

Summer Dragon – Seasonal dragon available during the summer time. Breed dragons with fire, lightning, and water elements. Firefly + Water is a good example.

Terradiem Dragon – Limited dragon that represents harmony. Breed dragons with air, earth, and water elements. Mud + Air or River + Air are popular combinations.

Zombie Dragon – Available from around the second week of October through the first week of November for Halloween. Breed a Meteor Dragon with a Pollen Dragon.

Olympic Dragon Breeding in DragonVale

The Olympic Dragons are another set of limited dragons that are only available during the Olympics. There are three naturally, named according to the winning medals in the Olympics.

Gold Olympus Dragon – Limited dragon only available during the Olympics. Mix an Air hybrid with a Lightning hybrid, like Blazing + Storm

Silver Olympus Dragon – Limited dragon only available during the Olympics. Mix an Air hybrid with a Lightning hybrid, like Willow + Quake

Bronze Olympus Dragon – Limited dragon only available during the Olympics. Mix an Air hybrid with a Lightning hybrid, like Blazing + Crystal

Gemstone Dragon Breeding in DragonVale

Gemstone Dragons were first introduced in May 2012, the first being the Emerald Dragon. All Gemstone Dragons earn gems instead of gold when kept in their habitats, and they aren't able to breed at all.

Jade Dragon – Represents multiple birth stones from the middle of May through the middle of August . Breed a Salamander Dragon with a Plasma Dragon.

Amber Dragon – Represents multiple birth stones, available from the middle of August through the middle of November. Breed a Quake Dragon with an Evergreen Dragon.

Jet Dragon – Represents multiple birth stones, available from the middle of November through the middle of February. Breed an Ash Dragon with a Frostfire Dragon.

Garnet Dragon – Only available during the month of January. Breed a Smoke Dragon with an Obsidian Dragon.

Amethyst Dragon – Only available during the month of February. Breed a Hail Dragon with a Sonic Dragon.

Aquamarine Dragon – Only available during the month of March. Breed an Iceberg Dragon with a River Dragon.

Diamond Dragon – Only available during the month of April. Breed an Ice Dragon with a Mine Dragon.

Emerald Dragon – Only available during the month of May. Breed a Crystal Dragon with a Lichen Dragon.

Pearl Dragon – Only available during the month of June. Breed a Seaweed Dragon with a Snow Dragon.

Ruby Dragon – Only available during the month of July. Breed a Chrome Dragon with a Scorch Dragon.

Peridot Dragon – Only available during the month of August. Breed a Crystal Dragon with a Cactus Dragon.

Sapphire Dragon – Only available during the month of September. Breed a Rain Dragon with a Mountain Dragon.

Opal Dragon – Only available during the month of October. Breed a Lava Dragon with a Mud Dragon.

Topaz Dragon – Only available during the month of November. Breed a Cactus Dragon with a Firefly Dragon.

Turquoise Dragon – Only available during the month of December. Breed a Poison Dragon with a Swamp Dragon.
